Come and teach a child to enjoy learning and you'll gain a valuable friendship at the same time! We're looking for tutors to work with an elementary students and a few middle school students.
Your schedule would be once a week on Mondays-Thursdays, from 3:15-4:15 pm or 4:05-5:05 pm. Tutors work with students one on one to build literacy, math, and social skills. All materials are provided by Solid Ground. It’s a wonderful opportunity for the kids to have time with a supportive, positive adult role model each week. We ask volunteers to commit to a semester at a time. This is a great opportunity for older high school students, college students, or the young at heart! Our sessions start back again on January 6th for the winter and spring.
All volunteers are required to complete a background check and application (or a parental consent form if you’re a minor) and attend an Orientation and Trauma & Boundaries before beginning at Solid Ground. The application can be found here. Once you fill out an application, we will be in touch to schedule an orientation and tour.
If you are interested in joining the team this winter, please indicate which day(s) of the week you are available to tutor, which age group you’d like to work with, and any other preferences they would like us to consider. We are still placing new students in our program & tutor pairs together, so it may take a few weeks before we are able to pair you with a student. We look forward to having you join us!
