Do you enjoy woodcarving and sharing your skills with others? We’re seeking a patient and enthusiastic volunteer to teach basic woodcarving techniques to older adults and adults with disabilities at Community Thread!
What You’ll Do:
• Lead beginner-level woodcarving classes, teaching essential techniques and safety practices.
• Share tips, tricks, and creative ideas to inspire participants.
• Help foster a welcoming and encouraging environment for learning and creativity.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed, and tools are used appropriately.
Requirements:
• Experience with basic woodcarving techniques and tools.
• A passion for teaching and helping others develop new skills.
• Patience, creativity, and an ability to adapt to different learning styles.
• Willingness to assist participants with varying levels of dexterity.
Commitment:
• You can help determine the length of the class. Most of our classes last 1-2 hours.
• Volunteer weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly – we’ll work with your availability!
• Classes are scheduled during weekdays between 9am-4pm at one of our Community Thread locations in Stillwater or Bayport.
• A commitment of 3-4 months is preferred, with the potential to continue if you enjoy the experience!
