

Who We Are
We are a local unit of government, serving Washington County since 1942.
What We Do
Our office provides education and technical assistance to communities and county residents to protect and improve natural resources.
- We monitor water quality in 80+ lakes and 40+ streams
- We provide free site visits for landowners and help to design conservation projects.
- Our staff study the habitat quality of prairies, woods, wetlands and fields around the county.
- We work with landowners, as well as community partners, to promote sustainable agriculture practices.
- We work in partnership with cities, watershed management organizations, and the county to educate and engage the public in protecting water resources.
