Who We Are

Arcola Mills, a thriving lumber milling community built in 1847, is now a place of historic and natural wonder.  Situated on the nationally designated 'Wild and Scenic' St. Croix River just 6 miles north of Stillwater on Highway 95.  Arcola Mills allows the visitors to step back in time while communing with the splendor of one of the area's greatest natural resources.  The 10,000 square foot mansion is available for events and the sawmill ruins gives you a look at the lumber boom era.  The kayak/canoe launch is available for a requested $10 donation.

What We Do

The Arcola Mills Center exists to restore and preserve the historic area, the buildings and vast St. Croix River frontage known as Arcola Mills for a public use, multi-purpose site.  We are a life-long learning center offering classes to allow guest to learn about the land, river, and enjoy this beautiful space.
