Do you love calligraphy and want to inspire others with your passion? We’re seeking an enthusiastic volunteer to teach basic calligraphy techniques to older adults and adults with disabilities at Community Thread!

What You’ll Do:

   Lead beginner-level classes on calligraphy, teaching essential techniques like pen handling, strokes, and lettering styles.

   Guide on creating personalized projects such as cards or artwork.

   Encourage creativity and build confidence in participants’ artistic abilities.

   Foster a welcoming, supportive, and fun learning environment.

Requirements:

   Experience with calligraphy, including knowledge of tools and techniques.

   Patience, creativity, and a love for teaching and sharing your craft.

   Ability to adapt lessons for participants of varying skill levels and physical abilities.

Commitment:

    Classes typically last 1-2 hours.

    Volunteer weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly – we’re flexible and will work with your availability!

    Classes are scheduled during weekdays between 9am-4pm at one of our Community Thread locations in Stillwater or Bayport.

    A commitment of 3-4 months is preferred, with the option to continue if you enjoy the experience!
