St. Croix Valley Opera is excited to announce the launch of our Opera on the River 2023 Performing Arts Fair!
Saturday, July 29, 2023 in Lowell Park, Stillwater, MN from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
This year, in addition to the main concert, we intend to incrementally grow the Opera on the River annual event by inviting a number of performing arts organizations earlier in the day to engage with the public by having tables/booths in the park where they can share information about their organization. The various types of organizations we hope to invite to the event would consist of, but not be limited to: Stillwater Area high school music and theatre departments, music departments from colleges and universities, as well as major chorales, orchestras, theaters, and opera companies from throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. The goal is to give these organizations the opportunity to have some educational exposure and give, not only the youth of the community but also parents and other adults, a chance to meet, talk with and learn about arts opportunities from representatives from all of these various organizations. We hope to also offer a select few organizations the chance to perform a short 15-20 minute exhibition from the grand stage throughout the afternoon leading up to the Grand Opera on the River concert in the evening. This would be a great and celebratory event for the city of Stillwater, and a way to inspire future musicians in the community both young and seasoned alike.

Here is what volunteer opportunities we are looking for that day for the Performing Arts Fair:
- 6 people total in 3 to 4-hour shifts
- Performing Art Fair Volunteers to help with vendor needs in the park
- OOTR Info Booth Monitors to engage with crowd questions at the SCVO Info Tent
- Roles include:
- 3 people per shift
- Shifts for that Saturday:
- 1st Shift call: 12:00 noon - end at 3:30 pm (help with setup as well as roles above)
- 2nd Shift call: 3:00 pm - end at 7:00 pm - end after tear down/clean up around 7:00 pm when the concert starts
