Home is where the heart is, but staying there can become harder with age. Simple tasks shouldn’t stand in the way of aging in place. With help from neighbors like you, more older adults in our community can continue living safely and comfortably at home.

 

Become a Home Services Volunteer at Community Thread and make a real difference. Every lightbulb changed, garden bed prepped, or safety check completed helps an older adult stay independent and live with dignity at home.

 

Your 90 minutes matter. As a Home Services Volunteer, you choose your project and your shift as needs arise. You can help multiple times per month or just a few times per year. In visits of no more than 90 minutes, you will ensure that a neighbors’ homes remain their place of comfort and joy. Home Services Volunteers can assist in one or more of the following capacities:

Simple assessment of one’s ability to function well in their spaceGeneral assistance with basic household choresCompletion of a small checklist of routine maintenance tasksSeasonal adoption of a yard or driveway for lawnmowing, raking, or snow removal
